    The side marked is the paper backing, cut the mender to size, place over tear, hole or motif, place the adhesive side down using a moderate hot iron & press for 10 seconds, peel the paper backing off and put one piece of fabric over the patch and press for 10 seconds again, allow to cool for 10 minuets but for a more permanent fix sew it all together.
