Firstly cut the patch to the shape or size needed, it is not a good idea to cut corners of the patch before applying it, this will decrease the chance of corners lifting. Use a dry iron, if any risk of scorching garment then use a pressing cloth between the iron and the patch. Iron the area of the garment to be mended & place patch glue side down. Press for 20 - 30 seconds without moving the iron , check to see if it has bonded and repeat if necessary * continue until the whole patch is bonded then press along the edges to finish the seal.
